How Viral Safety Testing Will Evolve
The pressure to shorten delivery times and reduce costs for biologics are driving an evolution in the biomanufacturing space. Many of the methods used for biosafety testing are decades old. These traditional testing methods are often culture based and can take several weeks to produce the required result to allow for batch release. In this talk we will explore how new methods can be used to accelerate biosafety testing today, as well as how they can evolve to meet new manufacturing paradigms such as continuous processing and novel cell and gene therapy treatment modalities.
