Directed evolution creates superior CHO cell lines

Directed evolution is an iterative approach where selective pressure is applied to a system to identify variants with desirable characteristics, in this case CHO cells. This poster describes the key steps undertaken to develop new host cell lines through directed evolution approaches, and the assessments performed to identify the most suitable candidates. The resultant cell line with the most suitable growth and metabolic characteristics and productivity capability was chosen to form part of a platform of technologies designed to create robust manufacturing processes for mammalian expression systems.
