The biopharma solutions firm is expanding its footprint with new sales and marketing partners in China, Korea and Israel.

The Switzerland-based company has inked deals with Alit Life Science in Shanghai, China; Biofors Global in Bucheon, South Korea; and Danyel Biotech in Rehovot, Israel. The companies will kick off by focusing on distribution of Securecell’s Lucullus PIMS software, and of the Numera autosampling and sample processing unit.

Andreas Koch, head of new products for Securecell, told Outsourcing-Pharma the partnership will help the company’s relatively small staff (35 employees) expand its reach and keep up with demand.

“We depend on specialized marketing and sales partners who know how to sell sophisticated and complex products to their biopharma customers in bioprocessing labs,” he said. “China, Korea and Israel are some of the priority markets where we expect fast adoption of our products."

Securecell CFO Michele Bombio added that reaching out to new partners will help in “addressing the needs of a growing and demanding biopharma business."

“Alit, Biofors and Danyel were selected based on the strong connection and network within China, Korea and Israel biopharma market as well as the existing competence in selling high value products to bioprocessing industries,” said Michele Bomio, CFO of Securecell. "It is an excellent addition to our expanding worldwide network of marketing and sales partners.”

In the second phase of the partnership, the partner firms will tackle Securecell’s line of products designed to improve perfusion cultures.

David Chen, founder of Alit Life Science, said expanding into China makes a great deal of sense for biopharma technology providers like Securecell.

“China is one of the biggest worldwide players in the biotech field. This new cooperation will help Chinese customers to use innovative and world leading software engineering technology to improve their processes in R&D and production,” he said.

Biofors CTO Keebung Rhee added that Securecell’s offerings stand to “enlarge and improve the process technology developments in our country."

Additionally, Danyel Biotech CEO Luly Gurevich said working with Securecell will help his firm “deliver high-end technological solutions in the biopharmaceutical industry and biological research fields.”

Koch told us Securecell has its sights on Japan, the UK, Belgium, the Netherlands and Luxembourg for future partnership opportunities.
