The week, as the name suggests, makes it a major attraction for a number of biotech companies to explore the latest developments in the industry, as well to discuss their own business potential. This year's conference saw the return of a startup pitch competition for fledgling biotechs looking to gain some momentum:

The conference’s first day concluded with an evening session discussion entitled 'Inclusion and Diversity' within the life science industry. The panel discussion brought together a number of leaders to highlight practical methods of leading the implementation of programmes encouraging inclusion and diversity throughout individual organisation and through wider action:
