Sartorius has bolstered its process validation services through the opening of a new validation service laboratory at a site in China.

The Goettingen, Germany-headquartered bioprocessing services and technologies supplier cut the ribbon on the laboratory in Shanghai this week, upping its validation of membrane filters offering within China.

“Our Shanghai validation lab provides high-quality services that are fully compliant with applicable GMP and GLP principles,” Jörg Lindenblatt, SVP of sales for Bioprocess Solutions in Asia at Sartorius Stedim Biotech, said.

“At this validation service lab, we now offer comprehensive process validation studies for the strongly growing Chinese pharma market.”

The lab offers 370m2 of validation space, offering clients microbiological and physical-chemical testing services.

The opening fits in with Sartorius’ strategy of strengthening its bioprocessing and lab equipment businesses, which saw the firm pledge to invest around €100m ($106m) into its global network last April.
