UK life sciences minister
Conservative MP George Freeman has been named as Minister for life sciences by the UK government and has indicated that backing the country’s biopharmaceutical and biotech sector is a big part of his plan.
Freeman joined biopharma investment fund Merlin Biosciences in 1997, led Amedis Pharma until its acquisition by Takeda in 2004 and subsequently worked at academic, pharma and hospital project matchmaker 4D before becoming an MP in 2010.
