Training a workforce
“As new technology is coming through, the biologics industry wants to make sure there are trained staff,” Robinson told us.
“There’s a shortage of people to support biologics in the UK. We need to develop some training places, either in-house or we will signpost people towards other trainee organisations.”
Biopharmaceutical education is largely academically-focused rather than vocational, he said. “People understand the principles of biologic manufacturing, but not necessarily putting them into practice.”
