First this week we have news from Hovione who has appointed Dr. Justin Hughey to lead the Particle Design sciences at its site in New Jersey.
Dr. Colin Minchom, Vice President Particle Design said of Hughey: “With his experience and deep scientific knowledge in developing traditional and non-traditional dosage forms with a strong emphasis on Hot Melt Extrusion and other novel processing techniques, I believe he will help speedily solve bioavailability challenges brought to us by our customers.”
To Chiltern International next, and the CRO has promoted Alecia Barbee to the position of Vice President, Global Biometrics.
Barbee joined Chiltern in 2006 and, prior to this promotion, was responsible for oversight of all Biometrics activities in the US.
“In this role, Alecia will have global oversight of data management, data programming, biostatistics and e-clinical functions in Chiltern to provide the best-in-class and comprehensive biometrics solutions to our global client base,” said Chiltern CEO Dr. Jim Esinhart.
Global strategy consulting firm NDA Partners has added three senior industry executives to its roster of Premier Expert consultants:
- Former Director of the Division of Monoclonal Antibodies (DMA) at the US Food & Drug Administration (FDA) Dr. Kathryn Stein
- Dr. howard Lee, a Professor and head of the Clinical Trials Center, Seoul National University Hospital, Department of Clinical Pharmacology and Therapeutics, Seoul National University College of Medicine
- Dr. In-Jin (Theo) Jang, a professor in the Department of Clinical Pharmacology at the Seoul National University College of Medicine and Director of the Department of Pharmacology at the Seoul National University Hospital

And finally this week, healthcare communications services company Vocera has promoted Brent Lang from President and Chief Operating Officer to President and CEO.
He succeeds Robert Zollars, who was appointed to the role of executive chairman of the board and will remain an employee of the company.
