Biotest Pharmaceuticals Corporation has relocated its Plasma Center in Pembroke Pines, Florida, US.

The site – used to collect blood for plasma-based therapies – has relocated within the same neighbourhood to Taft Street, Hollywood, Florida and officially opened on July 30.

The Biotest AG-owned firm said it plans to hire additional staff to work at the facility, explaining that it is currently recruiting medical personnel and phlebotomists.

Biotest sites

In January this year, Biotest sold its Boca Raton, Florida-based site to ADMA Biologics after the former was issued a complete response letter (CRL) for the facility in July 2016.

ADMA agreed to resolve the manufacturing issues cited in the CRL, and under the terms of agreement, will gain exclusive rights to Biotest’s plasma-derived approved therapies Nabi-HB and BIVIGAM, the investigational product CIVACIR and $5m (€4.6) worth of inventory.

In addition, German-based Biotest AG announced it would purchase 50% of ADMA’s capital stock and will become owner of two AMA plasma centers in Norcross and Marietta, Georgia, US.
