Selecting Vent Filters For Ozonated Water Tanks

Published: 11-May-2015 | Format: PDF file | Document type: Application Note

With many pharmaceutical processes needing large water volumes, it’s vital to protect the water against contamination. Storage of purified water at a minimum temperature of 80oC to discourage microbial growth in storage systems is an option, or adding ozone as an antimicrobial and oxidizing agent. Water stored in tanks is often fitted with a sterilizing-grade vent filter to ensure proper ventilation without contamination. This paper discusses key considerations for selecting vent filters for hot/ambient water tanks exposed to ozonation and helps filter users determine their usage strategy.
