Single-use, manifold benefits: Parker adds UK production capacity for bioprocessing tech

Parker domnick hunter has added manufacturing capacity at its facility in Birtley, UK to better supply European biopharmaceutical industry customers.

The firm – a division of Parker Hannifin Corp. – has installed an ISO Class 7 clean room at the site in which it will make manifolds for bioprocessing systems.

It cited European customers as a key driver for the investment, explaining that the UK location will shorten supply timelines.

Guy Matthews, market development manager at Parker domnick hunter, said: “Our investment in Birtley has been made to ensure we continue to play a major role in supporting the biopharmaceutical industry across Europe and the rest of the world.”

The firm also said the new production capacity will bolster its existing single-use manifold business, which is based in in Oxnard, California.

Parker domnick hunter was formed in 2005 when Parker acquired the UK filtration technology specialist.
